Lua - Conor Oberst and Gillian Wench

A slow song but a great duet between Conor Oberst and Gillian Wench. This particular version of Lua was for "Dark was the Night", a charity compilation album.

Steady As She Goes - The Raconteurs

The first song on my running playlist, and off The Raconteurs's first album "Broken Boy Soldiers".

If Work Permits (Live) - The Format

Starting off slow at first and then picking up, "If Work Permits" is one of The Format's best songs. The live version is featured here and a demo of the song can be found on their album "B-Sides and Rarities."

Fake Empire - The National

This song sounds better every time you listen to it. It's off The National's album "The Boxer" (There's also a live version on itunes that really good).

Art School Girl - Stone Temple Pilots

The song Art School Girl is off of STP's third album, Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop. The album was released in 1996. The song adds oddity to the amazing sound of Stone Temple Pilots. Though not expecting to hear it when at their concert in Ottawa on Monday, it would've added some life to an otherwise lackluster performance.

Check this song out on itunes

I was Made for Loving you - KISS

After just recently seeing KISS it seemed necessary to give them a song on the blog. The song of the day is KISS's second gold single ( sold over a million copies ) the song was released on their 1973 album Dynasty. This song truly rocks with amazing guitar, a man who's voice goes so high that the use of estrogen pill is obvious, and a chorus created by  fallen angels or demon of rock.  I was made for loving this song.

No You Girls - Franz Ferdinand

One of the less successful ipod commercial songs, although one of my personal favourites. Franz Ferdinand is a scottish rock band and "No You Girls" is off their third album, Tonight.

Gas Panic - Oasis

Off the album "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants", the song Gas Panic is a departure from the usual upbeat Oasis. Gas Panic received very mixed reviews, because it is so different from any of Oasis's earlier work.

Maria, Maria - Santana ft. The Product G&B

You looking for some awesome guitar riffs from the Mexican who keeps on rocking. Santana may be sixty-one but his guitar solos are still magic.
